Scaly Bulbs—Spring Propagation (continued)

Step 5. Leave the scales in the bag at room temperature for about 2 months checking periodically to make sure that there is moisture in the bag. It is okay to turn the bag over occasionally to redistribute moisture. After 1-2 months, small bulblets should form.

Step 6. When green leaves appear, plant the bulblets about 1/2 inch deep. It will take approximately a year for the bulb to mature.

NOTE: Don’t forget to replant the Mother bulb.
