    Bromeliad Guzmania 'Rana'

Just bought one on sale. Wiped off all the leaves as best I could. A few white spots that I hope were not scale. And white residue at the leaf bases that I think came from hard water. I plan to actually hang it using an old macrame plant hanger--as soon as I buy a hook. I went to the Bromeliad Society site and they had 2 pages of good FAQ's. Mom had tons of these in Florida. This one is in bloom and has a pup. I'm kinda interested in how I can do with it(translation: will it live).

Dazed, You might want to wipe it down with a antibacterial wipe like Lysol type just to make sure there are no nasty bugs or fungus hiding in the leaf bases
