Merry Christmas from Toby(he is the neighbor's cat but, ssshhh, don't tell them about his 'lap of luxury' other life). Toby is enjoying the lap of luxury as well as the Christmas decorations !

I can't resist a side story about Toby..He has taken to slipping downstairs unnoticed and after thoroughly looking upstairs we go down there to look for him. Last night he got down there and I went looking for him switching lights on room to room. When I lit the light in the bedroom my eyes were drawn to a swishing black tail sticking out from under the bed skirt. Silly cat thought he found the perfect spot--a dark bedroom but he forgot to go far enough under the bed that his tail didn't stick out. Even after calling his name he thought he was hidden and didn't move save for the swishing tail !

Sounds like Coal. He goes under the bed that my daughter used and left in the living room. When we can't find him , we call him and he comes out from under the bed.

Over at the Knitting Paradise forum we are having a knitted lace workshop . We are knitting a shawl designed by a member known as Dragonflylace. We could use any yarn that we liked as well as needle size. My first choice of yarn, a lace weight from KnitPicks.com would not cooperate with the pattern so I went with a baby alpaca in a medium dark gray in a sport weight, so I am using size 8 needles. So far I have knitted one edge, took off the needle and placed on waste yarn till center of shawl is finished, then I will attach it to the shawl with the Kitchener stitch. Once it is washed and blocked, I will get a photo of it up here. I am about to knit the last row of the first repeat of the shawl center and I am just now attaching the 2nd ball of yarn.
