I just snapped this photo to show the Canada geese sleeping on top of the iced pond AND on land, to the right, under the birch tree are 9 of the domestic geese. It appears that 2 are missing. I don't have a good feeling about that. They stay up at the other end of the pond when it starts to ice over(I guess its more shallow) so I have lost track of them for 2 months. Even when they have their little spats and separate from the flock, they do get back together, so this isn't looking good. Anyway, they are hungry and the reason why they are under the birch tree is because they eat the papery bark. I ran out of corn so gave them black bread.
