Large Water Oak
The light colored mark at the base of the tree is where lightning went to ground, last summer. The flower at the base of the tree was struck, burned to a crisp and apparently totaly destroyed. You see it now, thriving. Some determination! This tree is between three and a half and four feet thick. Its twin is a little smaller.I am 67 and the trees were quite large, when I was thirteen. There is one about five feet thick at the base, accross the street.

THIS is the other tree-which was actually the one struck by lightning, and is the larger tree.
