    "Batata" Cuban Sweet potatoes

This is a view of my garden which had a three foot deep mixture of oak leaves and grass clippings placed on it, before the Batatas were planted.

I love Sweet Potatoes. Is the Batata pink or yellow variety?

The Batata is more starchy and has a slightly different, nutty like flavor. The one I am growing has a white/cream color. I've seen three varieties of it. One of them is quite pretty, with bronzed leaves. I don't know its botannical name,or whether it is related to yams or sweet potatoes. To me,yams and sweet potatoes taste the same. The tubers look slightly different. Both grow well here.

These are regular sweet potatoes, which I found too late after maturity. They split open several places. The biggest one is about fifteen pounds.
