Hi! I know I've been silent, too much not so fun stuff going on.

DL, I very much appreciate your remembering to ask about my mother. She's actually been holding her own for over a month now. Unfortunately it seemed my sweet mother-n-law's turn to need our attention due to medical emergency but that's now improved also. Added to my busy month was my daughter-n-law's wedding and reception. Elated for her and her new beginning but a difficult time for my family. REALLY glad January is almost over.

During my time away with the illnesses the weather/wind destroyed the covering and poly for most of my plants/bulbs. Then rain/freeze damage took it's toll, esp on my hippies. First time I've every wintered any potted rather than inground. Meanwhile a heron was vacationing at one of my koi ponds. Only time will tell what I still have ANYWHERE. This has NOT been a good month.

Now, as for the REAL reason I'm on this thread......the ID for the mystery photo....drum roll please ....it's h. macrophylla Fuji Waterfall. Were I a bettin' lady I'd put a bundle on it. If you google you'll find all the info you need. It's fairly new to U.S. so if you paid less than $15 you did well. Hope this is helpful. Sorry it took me so long .

Patsy- It is so good to hear from you. Understandably, there has been much going on for you and to 'process'. I hope things level out .

Thank you so much for the identity of this very pretty and special hydrangea!
It is 'hanging in there' in its new pot with much better soil and has lots of new growth/leaves (at the bottoms of its branches). I hope I can nurse it through winter and pick the right place to plant it andget it to bloom(at some point--I'm sure it will be quite confused as to what season it is for awhile).

You're most welcome. As to the growth season, a little confusion's good for us all ... once in a while. At leaset that's what I keep telling myself . At Pendleton King Park this Thursday's our day to prune out the dead wood in the hydrangeas and also to prune the KnockOut Roses. Yours is probably just happy to be cared for and will likely reward you this summer.
