    Orange Jubilee Esperanza

This is the orange flowering Esperanza (actually a different species of Tecoma (tecome stans being the familiar yellow flowering variety). Although said to be more tender, it made it just fine here in NW Austin and is starting to put on another show of bloom

I like orange flowers, that is a bright one. Reminds me of out Trumpet climber. DO you have the yellow. I'd like to see a picture of it. ( You all know I LOVE yellow.)
Where is the origin of this plant?

Tecoma stans comes from desert shrublands and dry forests in the region from Texas and Arizona southward to Argentina. Here is a picture of the more common Tecoma stans (Esperanza). For more info http://www.floridata.com/ref/T/teco_sta.cfm

Actually the foliage closely resembles Sambaucus (Elderberry), a plant that I know is common in your area.

Oh yes elderberry is very common but not as much as it used to be. I made some jelly with the berries that didn't set up very well. Made the best pancake syrup ever.
