    A Really Stange Fern!!

    You guys won't believe this one. It is called an Oil Fern (Microsorum steerei). It is a subtropical fern from Asia that I found at a plant show today in Austin. I have edited my original posting to reduce the picture size

    Yes, the picture is a true color for this plant - almost shocking to look at it. It gets up to 16" from the Google research I did and grows either epiphytically or terresterally in very moist conditions and shade in subtropical climates (in other words even I must grow it as a greenhouse plant in Austin in winter). Wasn't looking for this plant, just stumbled upon it.
