I don't know how many of you have tried growing these little jewels from seed, but years ago, I started some every year. Then I would harvest seeds (not many, but some) from the spent flowers.

They are an excellent border plant. They germinate quickly and start blooming within about 60-80 days. If you remove the spent blooms, there will be more and more. I usually try to leave some of my favorite colors and try to find seeds in them. The seeds are large, so they are easy to find, but there are not very many of them.

Just one of many favorite annuals... I have never tried to overwinter them because they are so easy to grow from seeds.
