Plants, rare and otherwise have always been a target for theivery. I've had plants taken from my yard on several occasions and several times this past summer alone! And they not only taget houseplants, but perennials as well!

Thieves have helped them selves to PONY TAIL PALMS, potted ROSES, MUMS, FLOWERING SHRUBS. Whole cacti gardens planted in old wooden wine crates.

As you know from the article, being planted is no big deterent.

I continue to grow things in pots and to collect more than one of certian plants. Maby times I though about putting up cameras as a deterent, but know full well that it wouldn't stop a plant thief

    People will steal anything!

You remind me that I am extremely grateful to live in a tiny neighborhood that no one bothers. One house had a burglary once, but the household included several teenaged girls. It is believed that the friend of an ex-boyfriend decided to break into the home.

    They no longer live here.

Although I wouldn't hesitate to put some of my prized plants in the back yard, I have to admit that I would hesitate to put those that are not easily replaced in pots near the front. Just in case...

So sad that we have to live that way.

But, HEY! Maybe it is just that I don't have anything worth stealing?!!!
