Thread: October Blooms...

  1. #16

    Hi Ann!

Ann, Your pink Brugsmania is absolutely beautiful! Do you have any seeds from it you could share? I'd be happy to pay for them. I've never grown Brugsmania before but don't know why since they are so gorgeous. Is it a vine and how tall does it get? 32 degrees here in northern Ohio this morning! We've bought a new house but the closing isn't until the end of Oct. The home owners this week have offered to let me go ahead and start moving my flowers, but I am so afraid some won't survive the move this late in the year, especially my daylily seedlings. Oh well, I don't have any choice! Becki

    Becki,

I received this plant as a cutting.

So far, it has not bloomed early enough to form seed before the first frost. I am hoping that will change as the plant gets larger.

It is beautiful, isn't it? Hopefully, it will form seed this year or next year. I will send you some if it does.

    Sandi,

I thought I would take a picture of the bloom that has faded and will return.

Yes, they do that, and I am aware of it, so I let them get leggy just to save the blooms. I may start pruning more, though, so that they will become lush and full and then produce new blooms.

Here is a picture of a past bloom that will come back...

One that I started from cuttings...

I really like the foliage, and once it gets started really well, I will probably air layer it into the same hanging basket.
