    What a Treat!

    Vicki!

Your gardens are beautiful, an so are Tom's! It's a thrill to see them.

Bearded Iris do not do as well for me. They are beautiful, aren't they?

I bought a few Stella's last year and a few Happy Returns. Unfortunately, they are still in pots.

I have managed to get some hosta's to grow, but I don't have very much deep shade. The older pecan trees are so tall that they let a lot of filtered light come through,

I love the pond. It's in a pretty setting.

You are doing good, and it is FUN!

I can't wait to see more!

    Talking Pond?

    Vicki,
That is a nice pond, but down here in the deep South, here is what we call a "POND". How would you like to help landscape my 'pond'?

    Wanta go fishin'?

It's about 2 acres, and produces about 300 Lbs of fish each year.

300 pounds of fish ! What do you get out of there ? Catfish ? Bass ? I know bass like to hang aroung submerged brush. Do you have walleye there in Alabama--now that's my absolute favorite ! Guess I'm just hungry !

Up here in the far north, land of about 5,000 lakes (maybe a little exaggeration), that would be an awesome fishing lake. 300 lbs. of fish, they must be HUGE! I know ya grow big ones down there, watch the bassmasters, Bill Dance, Hank Parker, etc. I agree with Cathy, walleye, yum yum. We have some nice sized ones here in the Muskegon River. They netted a 130 lb. sturgeon at the mouth of the river, and named her Muskegon Mary. To think I grew up swimming in that river with monsters that big! yikes. I've also seen huge catfish taken from there.
As for the landscaping, lucked out on that, I removed a very overgrown forsythia and a 8 ft. douglas fir! That was alot of digging. That's how the pond came about. It used to have plants IN it, but my dog thought they were submerged toys!
Tom, your pond looks wonderful just like that. Tranquil and restful.
Thanks and glad you're enjoying the pics.
