    I have a couple of shady areas to develope...a lot of brush to clear..trumpet vines and blue bells to dig up..I need a vacation just to get yard work done!

    Hi, glad you are getting some nice surprises!
    I think that 1st picture is of Aquilegia Canadese. It is native and indeed wild columbine is a popular common name for them.
    They're very pretty especially in big clumps like that. Driving down the roads around here, if you've got a sharp eye, you'll see stands of them in the woodlands. I have several in my gardens for the second yr., hoping they'll get big like yours.

    My what a beautiful peony. I love peonies! I have several different kinds. Why did you swear you'd never have them?
