    Question Potting up seeds?

    Hi All,
Since I'm new to growing from seed. When do I get to start pricking and potting? Any help would greatly be appreciated since I've got about 1,000 seedlings! Well o.k. maybe 300-500.
    Happy Growing,

Vicki--the rule I've always heard is to prick them out when they have their first set of true leaves.

Each plant can be different, my lewisias are very forgiving and can be left a long time before potting up, while others hate to be disturbed at the best of times and the earlier the better.

Doing it before they have a set of true leaves seems to be hard on most things, tho the hellebores I will do as soon as they emerge as long as I hold them by the cotyledons (not the stem). Very young seedlings will die if their stem is bruised, so try to hold by leaves only.
