Clematis

The woman at the flea market said it was light purple. Doesn't look light purple to me.

Hey, Vicki!

The Clematis is really pretty, and I have to tell you that your Garden Architecture is precious!!!!!!!!!

My Clematis is just plain 'poopy'!
I have 3 of them. I gave them a nice trellis to grow on but they want to grow in the opposite direction(one is growing in a peony). I will post a photo but would love to know where I am going wrong !

As you might have noticed, I took the opportunity to play with the fonts, etc.

Cathy,

I have had to actually "train" my Clemais on to the supports I've given them! Especially 'Dr. Rupple' who was being very stubborn about climbing "up" and wanting to "sprawl" over the fallen tree. 'Polish Spirit', who was moved last summer has been tied up numerous times in my attempt to get it actually into the tree I planted it under. It decided to bloom before it was really into the tree, but I think I have finally convincd it that meandering among the branches will be the place to be, but we shall see.

I've bought two new ones to plant at the base of other trees and I know it will be a lesson in "training" to get them started. Once done though, they generally take the hint and use what has been provided. I need to get them planted!

If you can find the vel-cro plant support ties, they are the best to use on Clematis, but I have also used whatever I could find, including good old twist ties and string.
