Easter Lilies

After 2 years of no Easter lilies from Church(someone beat me to them), today was the day ! As I walked into the chapel area, the walls were lined with faded potted tulips, daffs and Easter lilies waiting for transport to the dumpster(I suppose). I gathered up the Easter lilies and 1 hydrangea and left the daffs and tulips(they tend not to do well in the garden--maybe the type they are). I now have a good supply of Easter lilies and a beautiful lily bed to be made ! :)

Last year I took 3 Easter Lilies from our Church. It was still cold in MI, so I just kept them in my garage. I totally neglected them. Occasionally I noticed them and said, "oh, they are still alive!" so I gave them some water. Then in the fall they died back. I thought they really died (because I had never grown lilies before).

But this year I found that I had 12 baby lilies. Due to the neglect last year (not much sunlight, no fertilizing), I think they will probably do poorly this year, but maybe next year I will have some blooms. :)
