Tree Peony ??

Hi all,
I've recently (yesterday) received 3 tree peonies. Bareroot
with nice healthy roots and about 24" tall.
Our ground is still frozen and I don't know what to do with these.
Option #1
Place in 'crawlspace', doesn't get below freezing, wrapped in newspaper. 10 layers or so loosely.
Option #2
Pot up and place in crawlspace.
Option #3
Pot up and put grow light on them
Also have access to south facing small window.

I went with option, #1, but wonder if I should do one of the others instead.
