I grew this one from seed this past year. It was slow to bloom but when it did, it was a beauty!

They look a little funny twisting like that but at the same time very pretty.

I desperately want this one, but have not purchased seed (as of yet).
The blooms are adorable! How big do the plants get?

Ann,
I started the snail vine seeds in little peat pots (seeds came from ParkSeed.com) and moved the plants as a group into a container about three gallon size. As they started vining I added a short trellis about 3 feet high and just wound the vine all in and around that. It was about 8 months before they started blooming. I cut it back and and trying to store it in the greenhouse overwinter, but we will see if it survives or not. So far no new growth, but that's how I wanted it for now.

Thank you! It sounds like a small vine, compared to my red passiflora which takes over the world!
I shall definitely give this one a try. I do like the unusual blooms!
I'm not sure if it would survive outdoors during my winters, so when I do get seeds, it sounds like it is small enough to stay inside which is GOOD NEWS!
Thanks!

Talking to you about this one got me curious so I went out to see how the cut back vine was faring in its storage place. And lo and behold there WAS the beginnings of tiny green shoots off the old vine stubs! Hope it gets warm enough soon to let it out to play at least some of the days!
