I have found another exciting new plant that I am itching to try in Austin. It is Forsythia viridissima var. koreana 'Kumson'. This Forsythia is grown mainly for the foliage!! Has anyone heard of it or seen it? There are many sources for it but they are all Zone 5-7 but they say it can grow in Zones 8 and 9 with some sun heat protection.

This site describes it well and apparently it's been in the trade for many years now.

Bob,
I haven't seen that particular one but i like it. We had one that was unusual that grew on the ground but i can't recall the name right now.
Thanks for that site though. It is a good one and looks like they are constantly adding to it.

Actually there are better sites that describe this plant. Look at this one.

Thanks for another great plant site. BTW Gold Tide is the low growing one we had. It bloomed later thatn most and kept that yellow in my garden even longer. Gotta love that.
