This one is my absolute favorite.

There are huge masses of the planted at Hunter's school, so I made sure to stop by with my camera and take some pictures.

Unfortunately, I have never seen a seed pod on these, so I suppose it is a sterile variety.

Ann,

they seem to be either about done blooming or in need of being lifted and divided ;) , maybe you can offer to do it for a few of the bulbs.

Also, they are not hardy up here and don't make a very good pot plant either, unless you have a green house. Dr. Porter had a different variety he was able to grow for a number of years, but I think they finally scummed to the elements.

This one is a beautiful variety.

Rebecca,

Everything is late blooming this year. I have scapes galore on my daylilies and usually, by now, most have already bloomed.

And, YOU BET! I have my eye on some divisions of these. They are so PRETTY!

I really, really like this one AND I found out the name.

It is Agapanthus 'Elaine' which is patented. I cetrainly can understand WHY!

I only wish that it produced seeds like the other varieties that I see growing around here.

This one is mine... It will be opening soon!

It looks very nice!

Could you take a picture for us when it opens? Thanks!

If it's not raining, but don't ask me to wish for that because rain is badly needed!

Hey, Dave and ALL!

I am moving this thread to bulbs, since it is really a BULB.

Slowly, but surely....

I meant to go outside this morning to take another picture before a chance of rain, but I goofed. It rained for a very short time, but all is okay...

It has very nice blue color. I am learning about new plants here. :)

Oh how I wish I could grow them and grow then well here! Suppose I could regulate one of the dwarf versions to pot culture but jeez it would mean another potted something or another to have to haul in and out every year!

Hey, one of my two 'Peruvian Daffodils' shot up a bloom stem! That's a close to a Cirum as I can get! It's in a 3 - 4 gallon pot and heavy!

Oh, Abby!

The white is pretty and so full of blooms. I do like the dwarf form.

Here is a picture from this morning...

So that you can get an idea of the size of the bloom (sorry that the pollen is wet from morning dew)....

What a beautiful rich blue colour "Elaine" is. I can hardly wait till it is in full flight. If it gets seed, please think of me. So don't forget and get busy with a brush like a little honey bee :)

Ants seem to like the pollen. Or at least they seem to be getting most of it before I have a chance to take a peak.

I'll keep trying...

Ann

I can see a number a small specks on the a couple of the blooms and the calyx, but am unable to discern them.

Here when we have ants on a plant it is usually followed by a plague of ahids. I think they milk and farm them.

Might be an idea to have a closer look - they take advantage of rainy conditions. Hopefully it is nothing. Just me seeing dots in front of my eyes.;)

Abby,

I checked really closely and could not find any aphids. I do know that I found a few small ants, but not many of those. Thank goodness, those weren't fire ants or I would have to get rid of them.

This year, for some reason, I have more lizards than ever before, so Aphids do not have much of a chance in my gardens or my greenhouse.

Now, those tiny little white flies are a different story, but I haven't seen as many of those this year either.

Finally, a little cloud cover so that I could take another photo without the glare of the 90 degree sun.

I am absolutely floored by the beautiful blue of Elaine which gets to look better and better the further she opens.

Elaine is absolutely devine.

Abby:)
