That looks like a wild grape, or muskadine vine. We have them here that volunteer all over, and grow up in the trees and shrubs. They are difficult to get rid of, but if you continue to cut them as low as you can in the summer, they will eventually die.

Thanks Tom ! I looked up both and wild grape sounds right. This link made me feel like I was not a 'friend of the forest', but I really don't want that stuff twining around everything else,
Thanks again Tom !http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/wild_grape.htm

I have the wild grapes too. I have been spraying them and hope it kills them out. They reach all the way to the top my my maple tree in the front. They have got to go. I'll let you know how the spray works.

It was comical trying to folow the vine back to its origin. I think it originates from next door. Luckily, the house is for sale. So, I'd better stage the purge before it sells ! :D

Cathy,

Just make sure that no grapes form and drop seeds. That will create more troubles for you.

I have problems with these also! Go figure! Who has the time to keep them all trimmed to the ground? So, they keep appearing.

When I saw it, I thought, definitely grape vine. I am grateful to all who answered, as I am still snowed. Computers were down today, so I have to go to work again tomorrow.

Bummer, but okay... We do what we have to do!
