LaPaz should be opening tomorrow...
I hope to use pollen from Ruby Meyer, Exotic Star and Misty as well as saved pollen from Papilio Improved.
I then plan to save pollen from La Paz to use on the next Ruby Meyer scape that should open in the next week or so.
Also, Supreme Garden should be opening in the next couple of weeks as well as Amputo.
I bought more colored tags today because it is about get busy.

Such a tease, huh?
It's supposed to start warming up a bit tomorrow. A bit means to 60+ degrees in the afternoons and lows of above 40. That's gonna be NICE for a change.
Hopefully, we will get some sun with that!

Nectar galore!!!!!
The blooms on both scapes have faded. Now, it is wait and see if I get any ripe and viable pods.
These species fascinate me...

What an interesting flower. Can't wait to hear your outcome on pollinating.

"La Paz" and "Tango" are listed, as to be expected, as two different hybrids in Veronica's book. Both were released from the famous, but unfortunately yet (early) depassed Fred Meyer, a Knight Star Lily breeder (USA).
Veronica states that these both are very similar to one another, and I can not detect any difference, certainly because I never had the oppportunity of comparing them directly.
The colors are the same - but, perhaps "Tango" has a bit more frilly edges. -
However; both are wonderfull cybister hybrids.

So far, the pods on La Paz on 'hanging in there', but I don't have tremendous expectations since I really do not know YET what I am doing with these beauties.
The cybister types as well as the species are so very new to me (one year more or less) that I have little expectations towards successful pollination and seedlings. Some, I struggle to keep alive in my climate and conditions.
Still, I enjoy their beauty and feel temendously grateful if seeds form.
They are certainly NOT as easy for me to grow as the hybrids in my collections, but I am learning.
Thanks, Hans!

As hopefull-and-just-starting Knight Star lily breeders we are, I do believe a little bit... ummmh... spoilt by the easy beaviour of these commmon tetraploid gardener's amaryllis, which cross- and self-pollinate so easily.
Unfortunately the hybrids of diploid Hippeastrum species are often sterile or at least self sterile. On the other hand I would not get discouraged and try again and again instead.
I was repeatedly unfortunate to self "Pink Floyd", and the same applied for H.cybister "Chico" - until I finally obtained numerous seed pods after selfing - outdoors.

I harvested the first seed pod this morning. La Paz X Misty gave me 34 healthy looking seeds.
The other pods are not very far behind this one and will be opening in the next few days.

Four pods of La Paz X Ruby Meyer were harvest this afternoon. The seeds were smaller than the X Misty seeds, but there were about as many. I didn't count...
They are not as small as Ruby Meyer seeds, though.
