Well, we have a reprieve of sorts from Fall. It was in the upper 60's today and should be mid 70's tomorrow. I hope to get some stuff in the ground tomorrow. Cleaned out the iris bed today and superthrived some seedlings on the south(dry) side of the house(aside from being in a realtively dry area, they had taken a beating from a foraging squirrel, a painter and at least one bunny!). I have 2 lantanas in my iris bed and hope they overwinter for me(one is next to a brick wall so I'm hoping that helps).
It's nice to have warmer temps in Autumn so we can get out and leaf peep at those firey colors--and how pretty it is to see them reflected in the pond--with geese swimming by--where's my camera ?!

Oh, lest you think this is a winter resort spot--the mid 30's will be here Tuesday night--back to tossing blankies on the plants ;)

Yes! Where is your camera? That is one thing that I miss about traveling with my work. I don't get to visit up north where the tree colors are so pretty this time of the year.

I was thinking about that today while I went around the gardens and took pictures of blooms. Yep! I feel lucky to still have blooms, especially after the cold spell this past week, but I miss seeing those beautiful autumn colors.

Cathy, weather.com now has a history of cities that you view and I looked at your weather forecast for the next 10 days. You have much more variable weather conditions than we do.

It's going to be cool here for the next day or two, then back in the lower 80's, then back to the 70's again, but we don't go the extremes in temps that you do.

Amazing!!!! Sure wish you would find the camera and the batteries.... I'd love to see some pictures, especially of the pond.

Nature is beautiful, and it is so nice when it is not so HOT!

Is it my imagination or did he just stick that thing in his mouth?

How pretty Ann. I think he must have had some nectar on his feller. Yummy!
Those grapes look so good. Makes my mouth water.
It is in the 60's here Barely. Still cool but nice and sunny. I planted some miniature iris I got at Lowe's and messed in the yard a little. It has been cold enough at night that most everything has gone dormant here, so thanks for the pictures.

Just passing through. Thank you for those lovely photos !
I took 3 tree pics this morning and will try to post tonight. For now , I am planting daylilies. I know, will the unplanted dl's ever end ?!I'll be out there in a parka and mittens and still be planting daylilies(hopefully not!).
