I have finally figured out what my weeping tree is..it appears to be a weeping mulberry. I love its screening affect for both the upper deck and lower patio. When you sit(but not standing) on the deck it blocks the neighbors on their deck. When you sit downstairs on the patio(under the deck) it blocks the neighbors on their deck looking down at you. It is very open underneath it and gives a nice big green umbrella effect.
I have several mystery seedlings on the property and did a leaf match with one in front of my house to this weeping mulberry. It is growing in leaps and bounds but shows no interest in weeping. I think it’s a good match BUT from what I read the weeping mulberry is a graft and it is sterile. So, I assume that means the seedling is not from the weeping mulberry and if anything it’s a white mulberry which will continue its vertical trek to the heavens in which case it will be cut down. Does my conjecturing sound accurate ?
