and the Will to Survive....

I found this tiny, nickle sized baby amaryllis where it looked like it had been crushed or something. Certainly, the tiny pot it was in didn't look so great.

After moving it to a safer place, it lost its one and only tiny leaf. Now, it is multiplying! It is incredible to see such a tiny bulb reproducing. The 'Mama' bulb is the size of a nickle. I didn't have a nickle in my pocket, but I had a dime, so here you go....

Any idea what it is?

All I know is that it is a lost tag seedling. It was caught up in the H. Ivan pot shuffle when they were moving plants so the tree could be removed from my house. Pots of plants were put on top of it. Tags were all over the place, but I would imagine that it is a Red Lion or Minerva cross of some sort. I had more of those than anything else.

There were a lot of tiny Red Lion tags in the area where I found these.

Oh, Ivan the Terrible!

Just wondered which bulb was so hearty. The Lion-hearted one or maybe the goddess Minerva. Both good matches for a blow-hard like Ivan. (pun intended ;) )

Yeah, Ivan hurt me bad! Katrina and Rita added insult to injury. I'm still a long way from repairing everything and replacing what was lost.

But, hey! We didn't have any this year, and I can say it now, 'cause the season is OVER!

I know nerves were on edge all fall down there. TTL there wasn't one this year.
