I saw these for sale in the Spring Hill Catalog, and of course, I waited too long to order. They aren't available anywhere now. Did anyone get some??

I guess I will wait until next spring. I want a few Japanese iris as well, so I need to not goof off when next I get the spring catalogs. She who hesitates.....

I planted 4 stargazers, but so far, none have shown up. The bulbs looked wonderful, so I wonder what I did wrong!! And my spraxis haven't done much so far, so I am pacing the garden waiting for show of some sort from all my new bulbs. I had a volunteer oriental lily show up last year and she is back, but there are no buds on her yet??? Ah, this is hard!!

on the other hand, my gerberas from seed are all surviving and putting out leaves, so eventually I should have a really nice show of all of them. I think I have 12 coming along here and there.

Linda- Your Stargazers are Orientals which bloom towards the end of summer. I assume you planted them recently. They are probably busy making roots right now and will surprise you when least you expect it.

Well that's a relief!! I planted 4 and decided that it was too shady (once the leaves all out) and I tried to find them and move them...only found one so moved it and I think it is peeking out. Not anything from its sibling bulbs yet, but they may be delayed, as you point out, by their timing and the added shade.

So many of my lilies are up and have buds forming. I don't recall planting them so this will be a nice surprise!! The one oriental that popped up last year (apparently was a seed in with a purchased coleus) and bloomed is up and I think it was an oriental due to its wonderful smell. But it has no buds on it or on the adjacent 2 stems that also came up with it this year. I will be patient and have hope.

So, I have lots to look forward to. I am awaiting the blooming of the many sparaxis I bought and stuck here and there. I warned my husband not to walk in the beds as I have a zillion little bulbs here and there that might be coming up!!
