Sale Dahlias

As luck or fate would have it I saw marked down bagged plants on my way out of Wally World. Heck, I was OUT of Wally World walking alongside the garden area and could see those enticing red discount tags on some bagged plants. So, I went back in through the garden entrance and saw primarily dahlias at 3 for 2.47(allegedly 50% off). The only thing that concerned me was that the insides of the bags I looked at had beaucoup condensation, I mean ..just plain wet. Should I even bother ? :eek:

I wouldn't buy them even if they were 90% off and that wet.

Dahlias will grow a bit with very little moisture, but more than that means they are probably starting to rot.

I say that without seeing them, so it is somewhat of a guess. How in the world did they get wet? Normally, they keep very well dry and I couldn't imagine someone letting them get wet during dry storage.

Ann- I hadn't thought too hard about why they are wet. It rained alot over the weekend and before that we had snow. You're right....they are probably diseased. Whew! crisis averted !
