Purchased several OGRs ... which have low little branches ...as in very little and they are dragging on the ground. Any problem cutting these off ... or should I wait awhile and let them get established?

Hey, Jim!
If the branches look healthy, I would probably wait a little while and watch. The green growth is needed for the roots to become established.
Were these young rooted cuttings? Or are there larger branches above these tiny ones?
They should start sprouting more when the weather gets warmer.
Do they have a name?

Sorry .. should have explained better .. these were purchases .. one and two gallon size. Well established. I normally cut off the little limbs less than 6" above the ground but these were actually dragging the ground when I put them in the bed a few days ago.

Jim,
I only have two of those. I have the climbing Cecile Brunner which will develope huge canes in no time.
The Reine des Violetts took awhile to establish for me. In fact, I thought that I had lost it, but it is doing great now and starting to grow and bloom.
Once they are planted in the garden in full sun, they will tend to grow more upright.
If you have lots of longer canes that are more upright, then it wouldn't hurt to cut the lower ones back, but I would try to do it in such a way that there is an upward facing bud.
Nice selection!

Jim- You certainly got bitten by the rose bug ! I think I was as well.
I almost got Reine des Violettes but was turned off by reference to Black Spot. I made a list of all the ones that caught my eye at HD. La Reine Victoria, Radox Bouquet , Gene Boerner and Mary Rose made the top level. Radox Bouquet looks like a carnation to me. Gene Boerner looks like a Bourbon rose though it is a Floribunda. The rest of my list was: Heirloom(do not know much about this); Charisma, Peace, Madame Pierre Oger, Compte de Chambord, Love and Peace, La France and Apricot Nectar. To date all I bought was Iceberg. I also notice many conversions to climbers but, for now, they aren't on my radar screen.
I like rosese that will flower all summer and tend towards Floribundas for that reason.
Any insights on any of the roses mentioned ?

I planted Iceberg tonight. I was so happy with how easy it was to work the soil with the tiller. I have hope now for the rest of the soil and future plantings ! Oh, and I didn't hit a sprinkler line :D
P.S. For those wondering why I am happy about soil; I just moved to this house and didn't know what to expect !
