Sorry no photo :(
Any suggestions regarding the identity of an iris with white standards, and champagne colored falls WITH orange beard. It is not Champagne Elegance or Encore. I think the orange beard is the real distinction on it's identity.

I can't be much help. I've got a LOT of Iris, and don't know the names of any. However, you might find yours at this site:

http://www.tnstateirisgarden.com/list.htm

Even if you don't find yours, it's a really nice bunch of photo's. They are in alphabetical order, and in groups. Just select an alpha range near the bottom of the page.

Thank you Tom. That is helpful. To this point I found one called Mind's Eye that is similar but the one I'm thinking of doesn't have 'veins' in the falls. Thanks again ! Maybe I will be swept away by another pretty face in that link and forget about this one !

Over on Tinkers, under Iris, under Bulbs..., there are tons of pix from a lady from Maryland. Really beautiful.

I'm not too great on clolors, it's one of those oft men things, I just don't see some colors. But this one seems to fit your description. I've been looking and still can't find it in any of the ID sites.
I'm not so sure if this one will come back this year. It's planted in too much shade and some of those out there are getting weaker each year.
So, now we may be looking for two different names.

Tom- That is a very pretty face and could help me move on ! LOL! There is a remote chance that I did yank out the iris in question and take it with me. There is nothing more frustrating than deciding you cannot take them all and then trying to use your hidden psychic abilities (ha, ha-none) or gambling abilities(ditto) to determine which one is which and who to take. I did take some very pretty light light blue(almost white with blue haze) ones which were also favs and given to me. Also, some not so whippy yeller ones that are special because they were given to me and came from a cemetery(in a no longer existing 19th century town) in northern Kansas. I call them my Sabetha iris. I also have , from the same person who gave me the blue haze iris, what she called homestead iris(they are brown and yellow) and presumably of old vintage.

The previous posts have some age to them.
This post is new.
Saturday is Tomato Day at the County Extension which also means it is IRIS Sale day !
That mystery iris still haunts my waking hours and dreams. Not really, but that sounds so dramatic ! Frankly, it irks me that I left it behind ! I even tried to see if I could see it from the road at my old house. Considering that a young me-optic couple bought it, it's a wonder anything lived. I see no traces of anything I left behind(which wasn't much); they even tore out my rose bushes-thankfully I took 1 !
I really really liked that iris. I got it at a Tomato Day Iris Sale AND I bought it, I believe, from a woman whose path I crossed again a year later at the Daylily Club. Yes, she is a cross clubber: Iris and Daylily !
She's actually a sweet older lady. I'm going to see if she has an e-mail addy in the daylily directory. Given her age, I doubt it. Hopefully she will be at the sale; she had some health issues a year or so ago. Dang it, I want that iris ! I'll end up buying a bunch more Saturday and still wanting THAT iris. Ann, quick, I need a crazy woman smiley !

Nope, not that one!

I had to look up the iris terminology - the term 'falls'. Iris aren't that easy to do here on the coast. It is one plant I would love to be able to grow more of...

Seems I have a lot to learn, huh?

:smiley-thankx:

Ann- I posted a reply(last night) or so I thought. Things slowed way down and I hit post again. Then I realized that I had lost my internet connection.
I like English Charm and it is fragrant ! I'm going to write down the names in this thread and take them with me to the sale. Thanks .

Well, I went to the iris sale. Based on my description of my long lost iris, I am hearing that it is probably Apricot Frosty. However, according to the elderly grower, she almost brought it but decided the clump had rot and needed nursing and to check back next year. I'll have to search on the name b/c it may not be it.
In the meantime, I looked for something that might grab my eye. The dollar box of no-names was inviting but most had evidence of bore activity. There was a woman from the daylily club and she showed me a photo of Point Made($4) and said she couldn't understand why it wasn't selling, that she liked it. I told her to pick out the healthiest one and I'd buy it b/c I wanted to support her club. Then she went over to a box of Everything Plus and said they were half price($2) , so I took one of those too.
Here are on-line photos, but I liked the actual photos at the sale better.
LOL! I wanted to stay away from purples and blues, so guess what color they are ?!
The photo of Point Made had yellow standards without the purple veining as in the photo below.
Everything Plus has mascara lashes !

Cathy,

I checked out the 2 Iris you listed, and while 'Point Made' is most interesting, the 'Everything Plus' is my kind of Iris!

I got several new ones this year an still haven't figured out where I'll put them. Fortunately they don't mind going in a pot for a while! Hopefully after I did and divide 3 humongous clumps of Siberian Iris and one equally humongous clump of a sky blue TB Iris I might have a little room!

I either need to be triplets or 30 years younger so I can get everything done I need to do this season! :dizzy:

LOL! Ditto the years yonger/triplets sentiment !
I don't know how it'll all get done here either. I surprised myself getting these irises into the ground bypassing pots !!!!
