If a garden writer was coming to interview you, and to photograph your garden what would be the first thing you would want them to know or see?
My garden is a hodge podge of a hobby out of control, but I always enjoy reading of other gardeners ideas and favorite plants and portions of their gardens that they have created on their own without landscapers or designers input.
My favorite are my perennials gardens. I have worked with them for the last 5 years on acreage that was a blank canvas. It has been a labor that I truly enjoy and I would be lost without the beauty that my gardens provide for me each day.
So, want you please tell us about your gardens?

Thanks, so much!
This thread should be a lot of fun!
There are many types and personalities of gardeners.
There are the collectors, and I am one of those. Then, there are the experimenters who like to learn, I am one of those, too. Then , there are the designers who love to paint a landscape with year around color and intrigue. Whoops! 2 out of 3 is not bad, is it?
Perennials, flowering tropical plants, variegated plants, and vines are my passion. I do love ornamental trees and shrubs also, but I am learning about those.
And houseplants, my first love, but 2 little loving kittens have invaded and all my houseplants are in the patio, garage or greenhouse waiting for a breath of fresh spring air in the shade. One day, hopefully, the kittens will overcome their joy of loving on plants and knocking them over and I can enjoy having them in the house again.
I am hoping everyone will join in and tell us about their gardening passions.

Hi,
Always nice to welcome someone new. I think I will consider myself both! After about 5 yrs. things are starting to look real good. Looking forward to spring, I planted about 400-500 plants from division last fall. I was in the same boat as you, except with a wild flower filled field to begin in!
Welcome KatieBelle!:)

Thanks to everyone that has given me a glance into your garden.
Sewfarsewgood - I live outside of Houston in Conroe, Tx.
Have been to the Hill Country many times. What a beautiful area of Texas you live in.
Ann B - If you saw how many plants are here in ground and in my greenhouse you could say I was a collector also. Like I said, I haven't met a plant yet that I didn't like, and they usually end up coming home with me to live at my house. Not in my house, I have never cared much for them in my house, I don't know why, they are here they just live under the oak trees spring thru fall then the greenhouse in winter.
Everyday I learn something new on your forum. I am a information hound that thrives on learning and you and your members have a tremedous wealth of knowledge that we can all gain from. Thanks for having this forum available.
I also have quite a few daylilies, probably 250 named varieties and I can't even guess how many I have grown from seed, actually I prefer the ones that I have grown myself better that those I have purchased. Before fall is over each year I personally don't care if I ever see another daylily seed, of course until the next year.
I have a few gingers but the only one that I tagged is Jewel of Burma, and I've never seen it bloom but its only been here for 2 years. Any great tips to get it to bloom?
I have 14 different Amaryllis bulbs that have bloomed off and on all winter long in the flower bed. This is the first year that they have bloomed this early and this often. I also collect these seeds and grow them off.
This past year was my first year to take cuttings, I have always grew off from seeds. But, its exciting to take cuttings and see how fast they strike. Mine was with angel trumpets. I would guess that I have 60 cuttings ready to be transplanted into gallon pots this next week.
Sorry to have rattled on but I do enjoy discussing whats going on with other gardeners. Keep Gardening!! KatieBelle
