Anyone have experience with germinating magnolia seeds. I figured there must be a trick or two, otherwise i would see seedlings under every magnolia from squirrel activity and I don't.

Thank you, I found it on a search on Google as well. Have the seeds soaked, skinned, washed and planted. Will await any results....They were from a magnolia on the Mount Vernon property, maybe Martha Washington planted the mother tree....?

Sounds like fun to try and learn from it all!!!!
Gosh... For so many years, all I knew existed was a Southern Magnolia. They always pop up too close to a Southern pine or somewhere else that you don't really want them.
An older tree at my Mom's old place produced seeds, but I didn't really have time to give them a try.
