To prevent future disasters, I need to buy a remote reading wireless thermometer with an alarm for the greenhouse. Any recommendations as to model??

Gary,
As a starting point you may want to look at the several models of temp alarms at the below site. The output of these sensors can be connected to a wireless module.

Gary,
I was at Lowe's this afternoon and saw a wireless digital thermometer that has a remote module that could be placed in your greenhouse -- it can also be programmed to alarm. It was about $25!
Hope that helps

Gene,
You may be out of luck with this one-- I think the limit was 100', but I'll check it again on my next trip to Lowe's.
