Don't know how u make it up North ... been unable to really get outside here much for about 2 weeks ... and that is enough.

I am ready for yard work .. and I don't like yard work .. I like to see the flowers .. it is the work I don't like but have a very tough wife ... she is management .. I am labor. She says dig .. I dig and she is getting ready to issue the order.

Did make it a little easier .. on myself .. picked up a Mantis minitiller this winter .. digging machine ... not good for large gardens or hard soil .. but we will just have to turn it over. One of those deals u can't resist ... used about 3 hours .. and allowed to setup for awhile. Didn't run ... my future son-in-law fixed it for $5 ... knew I liked that boy.

Hope u folks up North are still sane .. don't know how u do it... will stay in the South where winter is thought of in terms of weeks of bad weather followed by weeks of sun and nice weather (shirtsleeves).... and then we repeat the cycle.

Jim,
Sounds like a good deal..well if you can believe it way up north here in MI the weather sounds just like there! It was right around 20 degrees for the low here. We have been having a weird winter just like everyone else. We might get 4-6 inches snow, be here for a few days then it's gone. If you look outside there is no snow in my yard (even on the north side)! Only looking in the forest do you see snow, or of course where they have snowplowed. Across the street from us is a basketball court that is also a hockey rink in the winter, unfortunately the weather has been to warm to even get an inch of ice! Every few days it gets into the 40's and I get to go out and do the endless list of stuff that needs done! We have only had enough snow to go sledding maybe for 10 days or so. It is either to frigid or too warm! Well that's Michigan weather for you! Truthfully the rest of the year the weather is wonderful and makes up for the 12 weeks of winter.

Only one more month for us, Jim, and yes, I have cabin fever also.

But then again, there is so much to do to get ready. I need to prepare my beds for new plants that are ready. I am sowing seeds in flats, like crazy. They will be ready to repot before our last possible frost which is April 1. Our last average frost is March 15, but I have learned it is worth it to wait the extra 2 weeks before planting out.

I have already had the lawnmower running. Those pretty little weeds in the lawn are flowering, but I must get them cut before they go to seed. Last year, I didn't, and, boy, were we sorry.

We were supposed to get your cold weather, but the forecast has changed to normal lows around 40 and highs around 60, and seeing the sun out just makes the CABIN FEVER worse!

Hi,
Wow March 15, here in MI the last expected frost is May 15. On my 21st birthday (many years ago!)which is april 4th, we had 2 ft. of snow! :( So I have at least 6 more weeks to plan, and do the endless list of stuff to get ready!
