This bloom is beautiful and HUGE! BTW, the bulb is also very big...

How unusual that one is. Almost looks like an alium bloom. How hardy is it? I assume it isn't hardy in Zone 6 as I have never seen one here.

I really like it, but a dear friend told me that I needed to give it more sun...

It opens slowly, and I watch it from day to day. You can even see the difference from one night to the next morning.

I have obviously had this one for a couple of years. When the bulbs come in at Home Depot next spring, I'm planning on getting a couple more, so I'll pick up one for you, too!

That is... If they have them! I don't recall seeing any of them this past spring, but they may have already been sold out by the time I was there.

I'm planning on trying to self this one, but from what I've read, the seeds take a VERY LONG TIME to grow into a blooming sized bulb.

I tried to self it last year, but I think I waited too long. I think that I should be doing that as the little blooms open and not wait until they are all open.
