hi forum
who has the best prices on shade cloth.
ther are so many grades ,percents of shade ,costs to custom make and so on.
any one have some thoughts on this.
i will be using it on the GH you see posted below.
for shade while propagating.

I like your greenhouse ,what size is it,are you going to go all the way to the ground with it or stop say 2 foot from the ground this will save you 4 feet in the with.

just tie rope to a knotted corner.thats the way they do it around here.

Compared to what you have to pay at Home Depot these prices are incredible. For foot wide fabric at home Depot they want about 39 cents a square foot compared to 14 cents per square foot from Shepps quote. About 1/3 the cost and you don't need to iece it together either.

The cheap shade cloths I bought for smaller shade houses came without grommets, so I just bought a kit and put them in myself. I fill two milk jugs with water and tie them to each grommet. They have gone thru lots of storms without damage. Yes I'm a milk jug junky, I have enough in the unheated GH filled with water that at 16 deg. it stays at 32 deg. I just got an order for all the tomatoes I can grow in milk jugs for spring. The hard part is drinking all that milk.

There is too much good info in this thread that is of soooo much use to all of us right now or will soon to be of use.

I am in the process of stripping my plastic from the greenhouse and replacing it with shadecloth for the summer, as well as building 2 more shadehouses using the same method I used for the greenhouse.

I will be building a new and larger greenhouse this fall, out of 1 inch PVC and a hybrid of several systems that have been posted here on Landspro. The new greenhouse will be about 15 by 30 give or take a few feet in length (depends on where I site it). I plan to double wall it for the winter - I think - not sure yet. It will be built so that the complete greenhouse PVC frame is water tight and can be pressurized with a hose to either act as a whole greenhouse misting system or used to deliver water for watering spigots and/or drippers as I please.
