Winter pics

My kids went to an all night lock in a school last nite. I had to be there to pick them up at 7:00. So I took a couple of winter shots to share with you all.

These 2 shots are of the unfinished fence line that I will be working on this year. The blue spruce sure are taking their time growing to a decent size. I had thought to put a wooden fence along these posts, but it would cost me several thousand dollars. So it will be planted with climbing roses and vines.

hey vick
last nite i had a bliz here lasted 15 minutes 3/4 of an inch of snow .
this morning there was 2 inches fell during the nite.
when i got off of work tonite it was all gone.
windy cold nasty . i gotta tell everyone i am just sick of working out in this crap.it is really wearing me down.
daffadyls are trying there darndest to get up and bloom.
mother nature just wont let it happen.
truly poopy weather.
march has come in like a lion and just will not quit roaring.

That is gorgeous! It gets prettier every year, doesn't it?

How many years have you had them planted?

I do love mass plantings of bulbs. They are spectacular!

The white/yellow ones have been there about 4 years, the solid yellows and doubles have been there 3 years. Also the same spot is where the surprise lilies (bulbs) are planted (they occupy the same area), and all are expanding. The same area is overplanted each summer with some kind of annual, interspersed between the Ajuga that covers the ground. That's why I hope to get the energy and time to thin the whole bed this spring.

That is huge and gorgeous. Mine looks a lot like that one, but I don't have nearly that many. And certainly, I don't have that large of a planted area of them.

Takes your breath away to see them, doesn't it?

Some of mine have faded and are going to seed now, but others are still just now opening.

Vicki, Everytime I see your pictures, I am reminded of a postcard. You see, I have never seen beautiful snow like that. Awesome!

Thank you all for thinking my cold and snow is pretty. Even
when I'm sick and tired of it (like now), I still see the beauty in it.
Shepp, I WILL NOT let the last few weeks of winter get me down. I tend to stay hibernated for as much as I can, but I can only clean this house so many times. LOL! Today was beautifully sunny, but still rather chilly. We are about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year. I too get sick of working out in the stuff, and housework even seems like a respite. (I can't believe I typed that!!!!)

Tom, your daffs are beautiful! Sure lifts my spirits as I know mine will be poking there heads up in the next few weeks.
The revised photo you sent me was very nice. Thank you.

The blue spruce have been planted for about 8 or 9 years now. They were just little seedlings from the forestry service.
The whole fence line was planted with them, but quite a few didn't make it.

Ann, they do call Michigan the winter wonderland. :) It is truly a sight to behold, when you've never viewed it before.

Such pretty pictures from all. Our daffodils are in just starting to b loom and guess what. Tomorrow is my only day off so it must be...snow! We have had more snow this March than all winter. I knew we would pay for that. I really did need a day of sunshine, maybe next week.
