A couple of weeks ago I brought all of the daylily seedlings and prolif indoors and under the lights. They are not happy plants and most seem to have an infestation of "plant lice". I have trayed up 24 of them and they will be going back outside. Some will make it through the winter, most probably won't, but none will survive if I keep them indoors. Most of these are prolifs, although a few are seedlings. Oh well. . .

I've yet to get a handle on how many seeds were harvested this fall and which crosses I will be planting in January.

Of course, I have no idea where these seedlings will go once warm weather is here either.

I gathered all the sale plants up the other day and got them all on the ground (and off of the rack they were on); they'll be happier on the ground where they'll be a bit warmer! There's actually three sections off to the left of the parking area and a fourth in the left corner. And there's more there than just daylilies. My Austin Roses Seedlings are there as well as several other perennials and the plants that will be moving to Oregon come Spring.

I was only able to get one load of pine straw this year and most of it will have to be put on the new mound bed, but I will try to do so sparingly so there's something left for the seedling bed. Of course, the seedling bed is getting a nice covering of leaves from the neighboring trees so I may be able to use the pine straw on other things that will still need some added protection.

Lately it's been hard to tell if I truly have a handle on my "Addiction" or if it has me by the throat! Some days I fear it is the later!

So, all you Neophytes, be careful that you don't get in over your heads or the daylilies will make you crazy!

Too late ! :)

I too have to go through my seeds--far more than I can plant. I'll list all my crosses maybe over Christmas.
I've taken to not checking on the seedlings as I don't know the diff btw them biting the dust and going dormant and don't want to imagine the worst ! All I know is that they were all OK when last I looked and that they are surrounded by cotton hulls and protected by chicken wire. More than that I cannot do. ;)
