I'm just sitting here on a rainy day planning. I just acquired some Flore Pleno and am wondering how that might look placed alternately with Stella D'Oro along side the length of my driveway.
Are they too different in heights to look right ? I'd think the colors should complement each other (ROY G BIV and all that !). Not sure about overlap in bloom periods(Flore is mid to not too sure just how late) and we all know about Stella !
What do you think ?

'Flore Pleno' would be very nice planted behind 'Stella', but the heigth difference is a bit much for them to look right alternated.

FP blooms for about a month, once the clump is big enough, then it's done. Stella would bloom first and FP would probably be in bloom while Stella was taking a short rest, although, if your clumps of Stella are good sized, you could get over-lapping bloom and have both in flower at the same time.

If I were going to alternate another DL in the border with Stella, I'd have to use Double Cutie, also a rebloomer and about the same heigth, but with 4 inch lemon yellow double blooms. DC would also look nice with FP.

Just my thoughts on the matter!

I don't think planting Flore pleno near Stella is going to please. Flore pleno is a late July bloomer here, which is when Stella takes a few weeks off. Plus, they're almost two fee apart in size. For a compatibable planting that's going to bloom around the same time, I'd suggest Catherine Woodbury, Mary Todd, Strawberry Candy, Bela Lugosi, Ice Carnival -- they're all of comparable size.
