The importance of Botanical plant names has been stressed in our MG class, but I am not sure how many of you are aware of the religious names of flowers. I was aware of some, but learned a lot during a presentation given my one of my class members at our graduation ceremony.
The presentation touched my heart and soul, and I know that it will touch yours. We were given a printed handout of a web page that I have visited numerous times. The web page describes the symbolic meanings behind each part of the passion flower. I encourage you to visit the page by clicking on this link:

She then gave us a handout of a list of 200 flowers shrubs and trees with religious names. Click below to find them:

This Master Gardener, along with a friend of hers, have developed their own ministry. They put together spiritual containers for sick people, and tell them the stories religious signifance of each plant in the container.
The ministry is called 'Petals of Grace, A Mary's Garden Ministry', 'Spiritual Container Gardens for all Occasions'.
You can visit Mary's Garden Ministry at:

I hope this touches your heart as much as it has touched mine.
Enjoy!
