Ok ... consider that I am not "sure" (read that as I don't have a clue) what I am looking at.

Most of the cuttings I got at the exchange are doing ok .... but the Kadi Road leaves are turning yellow ... is this normal ... if not .. do I need to do something different ..

Should I expect the leaves to stay on the entire time or will they eventually fall off?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

This to happens to me occasionally, but the more I practice, the less it seems to happen. Also, some varieties seem to be more prone to losing their leaves in the process.

As long as the leaves do not have black spot on them, just let them fall. It may take a little longer for them to root, but you still have a good chance that they will.

If the stem turns brown, that is a good indication that they will not root.

Enjoy!

Haven't seen brown yet ... ask me about the different shades of "Black" that I have seen ... those I know. I don't think those colors are something to be desired on cuttings .. but I have seen them.

10-4 Jim!

Anything brown or darker, and you can just pull it. It's dead.

Keep us posted...

I know they are dead ... and they have gone to he land fill by now .... it was a sad day ... :)

if we were Drs. ... we could do an autopsy and find out what went wrong ... I don't want to keep making mistakes ... If I am making mistakes ... I lost the one that I really wanted to save but will pick up more cuttings in the spring .. I know where it is.

Hardy hibiscus has blooms .. and should flower before the frost hits .... at least that went right.
